How We Work

South Bank Students’ Union is an independent charity that exists for the benefit of LSBU students. We represent LSBU students’ interests, provide advice and support and offer great opportunities to make friends, learn skills and make a difference.

Becoming a member

Great news: you automatically become a member of South Bank Students’ Union when you enrol as a student at London South Bank University. This gets you access to:

Student representation
Help and support
Participation in communities
Participation in our social programme
Democracy - you can run and vote for elected roles and vote in democratic meetings

Opting out

If you don’t wish to be a member of the SU, you are able to opt-out of membership by emailing the President. Opted-out students still benefit from SU services but may not participate in SU democracy.

Governance South Bank Students’ Union, like every students’ union in the UK, is a democratic membership organisation run by students for students.
